Englishman “down under” goes on the rails

It’s been sometime since we featured any reports on the working exploits of our regular Englishman “down under” Michael Bullock, but I recently received a trio of shots of kit he was involved with, all be it on a smaller scale than we have seen in the past.

Englishman “down under” goes on the rails
Michael had been deployed working 12 hour shifts over a weekend on a rail link job for the new Perth Stadium project. According to Michael a large Irish company had the earthworks on the job and there was plenty of good “Craic” going on! Among the machines working on the project was this immaculate looking Case CX145C SR complete with GPS system and tilting bucket which is owned by Kee Hire. Also supplied by Perth based plant rental specialists Kee Hire and of interest to us in the UK, were these 9 tonne swivel skip dumpers from our very own British manufacturer and long term dumper specialists Thwaites. Of note in this photo is the fully air-conditioned cabs which I suspect would have been retro fitted in Australia. Representing Denmark down under is this very smart Hydrema 912 ES which has been converted into a dust suppression unit to the rear and a powerful looking hydrant on the front which I guess could be used in a fire situation. As ever we thank Michael for sharing this latest batch of photos with us and bringing some blue sky to the screen during our long winter months. Check out this time lapse video footage about the Perth Stadium Construction project where these machines have been working.
