K W Bell Group celebrate 50 years in business with investment in new kit
The company which is based in Cinderford, Royal Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire, has seen group sales push through the £50m barrier in what is the founder of the business Keith Bell’s, 50th year in business having started out as a one man bricklaying contractor with a trowel and a bag of tools in 1965. According to Keith’s son Peter Bell, the strength of the order book should see sales this coming year in the region of £58-60m, some 15% growth on top of record sales to date. dsc_3312 Talking about the company’s success Managing Director Peter Bell said “Bell Homes sales are forecast to top £18m for the year to May 2017, with 75% of the homes forecasted already reserved. Bell contracting has over £60m of orders in place with £30m of that falling into the next 12 months, so the order book for 2017 is already 75% full. Bell Plant will provide plant and equipment to the support the group, with hire values of over £2m per annum. Employees and sub-contractors at the firm now stand in the region of 500”. dsc_3314 The Digger Man Blog and Earthmovers were invited along to take a look at the latest additions to the fleet which include, 4 x Case CX130D hydraulic excavators and 6 x Thwaites 9 tonne dumpers, supplied by CBL Plant Sales, 4 x Hyundai HX140L hydraulic excavators supplied by Molson’s, 3 x Doosan DX85R’s and 1 x Doosan DX27Z hydraulic excavators supplied by Kellands and 2 x JCB VMT160-80 rollers and 1 x JCB 3CX Compact supplied by Holt JCB. dsc_3321 The impressive line-up of new additions was displayed outside the company’s headquarters where members of staff proudly took the opportunity to pose in front of the new arrivals. dsc_3315 I plan to visit this impressive business again in the not too distant future for a full feature article in Earthmovers Magazine, one to look out for I’m sure!
