Log splitting made easy

Its that time of the year, long, dark and cold nights when there really is nothing better than sitting by a roaring log burner, with a beer in your hand, the only downside can be chopping them up. There are of course, many mechanized solutions to the problem of “logging up”, I came across this skid steer mounted version recently, which turns the whole process into a one-man operation.

Log splitting made easy
America is a massive market for skid steers, they use them for a wide range of applications from general construction, to snow clearing and everything in between, in fact, armed with a veritable arsenal of attachments their uses are only limited by the end user’s imagination. One such attachment is the Halverson Wood Products, Skid Steer Firewood Processor and Log Splitter.   This all in one solution enables the operator to lifts logs up to 15” in diameter, roll it back into the specially shaped feed-trough, hold it in place with the gripper, activate the chainsaw, then watch the log drop down into the splitting trough, before pushing it through the splitter, where it can be split into 2, 4 or even 6 sections depending on specification, its poetry in motion, but don’t just take my word for it, just watch the video below!
