Takeuchi rides again

Following a significant period of mothballing due to changes in my personal life, my Takeuchi TB235 has been back out to work this week, so I popped along to catch a few photos and shoot a bit of video.

Takeuchi rides again
I’ve come under a lot of pressure over the past two years from people wanting me to sell my machine, but I’m glad I have resisted the temptation to part company with it. As I always say, you never know what’s around the corner so its nice to have it sitting on the back burner if my career path takes yet another turn in the future. It really is a cracking little machine and set up so my intention is to hang onto it for as long as I can. Its also great to see the machine out doing what it was designed for especially in the skilled hands of another well-known Cornish owner operator Gary Barton. Gary is operating the machine on the odd days when its working and when he is not busy with his own machines on his jobs, so it works well for both of us. It has been Gary’s first encounter with a tiltrotator which he openly admits has been a challenge to master, but he, like so many, is totally won over with the concept and has plans to use this on a job he has lined up where he says “it will come into its own”. Its great peace of mind for me to have Gary onboard the Takeuchi as he knows how to look after a machine and has a reputation for his machine care and quality of work that is second to none locally. Gary runs a Bobcat E26 personally but has been very impressed with the quality and smoothness of operation on the Takeuchi. I’m planning a visit to one of his job sites in the not too distant future for a feature in Earthmovers, which will be one to look out for. Check out my video clip from the site visit to see the Takeuchi working.
