Diggers tackle a Jumbo
Came across this video recently on You Tube and figured it would be a good one to share with the Digger Man Blog faithful.
In an almost sad end of life display, a giant Boeing 747-400, which looks like it could have once been owned by Australian carrier Qantas, is set about by two excavators, consisting of a Cat B Series machine and a Link Belt (Sumitomo) model. What is impressive in this video is that it makes you appreciate the size of a “Jumbo” jet when compared to the 30 + tonne excavators that are tearing the aeroplane to pieces.
Either way it’s an impressive display of how these aircraft are recycled into bike frames of soft drinks containers!
