Last week I had the pleasure of visiting a massive new Caterpillar 992K which has been delivered to the Aggregate Industries Torr Works Quarry in Somerset. Incredibly the 992 has been in the Cat wheeled loader line up since it was first introduced way back in 1968 and has become something of a benchmark for large wheeled loaders working at more »

Brøyt goes walkabout

Nick Drew : 16th November 2018 4:00 am : DIGGER MAN BLOG
The Norwegian built Brøyt excavators were strange old machines by any stretch of the imagination and while researching around the internet about them I came across this video of a fully restored X21 Series 2 model. Built in the early 1980’s the X21 Series 2 was a 13-tonne class machine which like many of the company’s models was totally undriven more »

KATO IMER have been making a big impact into the mini excavator market in the UK since launching earlier this year and it can only be a matter of time before they are able to offer the market some of their larger excavators, like the HD514 reviewed in this video by our old mate down under Ron Horner. A visit to a working marble quarry is an incredible experience, I was lucky enough to visit one in Turkey some years ago during a visit with Hidromek. Pondering about the time I spent at the Ozcinar marble quarry in Isparta this weekend, I took to the internet to look for videos featuring these places which make for an incredible more »

We will remember them… JCB has paid its final tribute to the World War I generation by presenting a cheque for more than £30,000 to The Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal. The company, which hosted Staffordshire’s Poppy Appeal launch at JCB World Headquarters, Rocester, donated a unique poppy-liveried mini excavator which was then auctioned to kickstart the Centenary appeal. Mini Digging Alternative

Nick Drew : 9th November 2018 4:00 am : DIGGER MAN BLOG
Last week I posted a photo on our Facebook group featuring a mini excavator that I had not seen before, it prompted an interesting discussion about the merits of the machine, so I thought I would do some digging, (pun intended) to find out more. The machine turns out to be a MB-1500 model and is apparently manufactured by German more »
