New Cat mini excavators sure to appeal

For the Caterpillar purists out there, the arrival of manufacturers in house-built range of new mini excavators will be great news.

New Cat mini excavators sure to appeal
Next week we will be back in Caterpillar's Demonstration and Learning Centre in Malaga, Spain, for the pre-Bauma press event, where the giant American manufacturer will no doubt be keen to show us some of the latest products that they are likely to be showing at this year’s Bavarian machinery fest in Munich in April. Among the machines we expect to see will be its new range of mini excavators which will range from the (1.5 tonne) 301.5 up to the (10 tonne) 310 which is an all new size model for the company. Caterpillar has spoken to its customers and asked them what they want from a modern mini excavator and this new range is focused on those customer demands featuring a whole raft of industry-first standard features such as, joystick steering (Stick Steer) and a tilt-up canopy or cab, as well as new options, including air conditioning and expandable undercarriages across the range. Of course, it’s almost guaranteed that Caterpillar will have a lot more to show us, and signal permitting I will be sharing these during the event on our Digger Man Blog Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts next week, but in the meantime check out this video on the new mini excavators.
