More oops moments from the archives (Blog Post Re-Visited)
I'm off on my annual vacation for a while so I'm going to leave you with a look back at some previously published blog posts over the coming days, some may have seen them, some not, but either way its always good to take a look back.
The recent truck and dozer accident post went down a storm as these kind of post’s often do, so I have delved back into the massive Digger Man Blog "oops" folder to dig out 5 more incident shots from around the internet over the years.
Working on the beach can be hazardous at the best of times and by the look of things the operator of this Volvo A25D had got caught out whilst tipping his load. It appears that the tide has also come in settling the sand around the stricken dumptruck.
One can only suspect that speed and fluid motion had a deciding factor on this Cat 773B water tanker conversion going over on a downhill slope, fortunately I understand that the driver escaped unhurt with only his pride damaged!
This photo is one from a series featured on one of the German plant and machinery forums and features a Kubota KX251 excavator which has slipped into a trench and ended up against the property it was working around. A crane was required to remove the machine safely without causing too much damage to the house.
In this shot taken somewhere in Asia we see a whole host of health and safety faux pas going on, the fact that a guy is standing in the bucket of the Komatsu PW170 is bad enough, but then to see the machine working in such close proximity to electric power cables is truly horrifying, add to that the fact that nobody seems to be wearing any form of PPE whatsoever, it just looks like a tragedy waiting to happen.
Finally in this batch a Cat excavator working in the forest has suffered a severe burnout in a potentially hazardous area surround with so much timber. It’s a frightening experience to see a machine go up in flames. Fortunately for most of us it’s not a very regular occurrence.
