Volvo’s 70 tonner gets an upgrade

Last week saw a rather quiet release for Volvo’s latest upgrade of its 70 tonne class machine with the launch of the EC750D.

This new machine replaces the outgoing EC700C and tips the scales at 72.7 – 74.7 tonnes depending on specification. It is powered by Volvo’s own 6 cylinder D16 engine which produces 508hp (374kw) which is an 11% increase in power compared to the old model. The machine is also capable of carrying larger buckets than the old C Series machines. It will be interesting to take a more detailed look at this new machine in the future, but in the meantime check out this promotional video from Volvo Construction Equipment on the new EC750D.
