And now for something completely different from JCB

Some shots flew into my inbox earlier this week of a very rare machine which is based on a JCB Loadall. These photos have been doing the rounds on various forums for some time, but thought I would share them with the Digger Man Blog readership.

CBL Salesman Charlie Oakhill, a former employee of Holt JCB was telling me about this rare machine recently, which is now up for sale back in the UK after many years working for the British Antarctic Survey. Details are very sketchy about this one of a kind machine, in fact even our good friends at JCB knew very little about it and were very pleased to see the photos. From what I can gather the JCB 506C HL with a reach of 11 metres, was designed for the American market, but this particular machine has been retro fitted with snow cat style tracks, at what must have been some considerable cost, as each of those track units would not be cheap! This machine is currently up for sale at J. Davies & Son in Pencader, Carmarthenshire, who are the main Takeuchi dealers in that part of Wales. I called them this morning to find out more but sadly they never got back to me. If I do dig up any more info, I will update this blog post accordingly. We thank Charlie Oakhill for sharing these shots with the Digger Man Blog.
