Menzi takes the tracked route

A new machine range is on the horizon from Swiss company Menzi Muck, which is sure to raise the eyebrows of those who like to specify the best in excavator technology.

Menzi Muck are well known for their wheeled spider type excavators which offer incredible hill climbing ability and awesome hydraulic power which enables them to run a wide range of high flow attachments like mowers and mulchers for hillside maintenance work. However it now appears that the company are ready to launch two brand new LGP tracked machines which feature expandable track frames. Details are sketchy but I believe that the two new models will be the Menzi Master M510 and the larger 14.5 tonne offering the M515 seen here in this photo courtesy of Menzi Muck. These machines look certain to appeal to a number of high profile specialised contractors in the UK and also to some users who prefer the option of tracks compared to the spider wheeled models that the company are so famous for. I have contacted Menzi Muck in Switzerland but am waiting for a reply as soon as I get more detailed information I will update the blog accordingly. In the meantime check out this video which features the new machines in action. I will be keeping a keen eye on developments over the coming months.
