Cat gets a piggyback

Came across this great photo on the Mining Mayhem Facebook page and just had to share it with the Digger Man Blog audience.

Not much detail on this, but a picture speaks a thousand words as the old saying goes. This shot was snapped in Wiluna, Western Australia in 1991 and shows a Caterpillar 245 being transported to another section of the mine, in the back of a Komatsu rigid dumptruck. Of course this kind of machine movement used to be common place in the past, but in many parts of the world these days, it would now be classed as a dangerous practice due to health and safety regulations. How did we ever get on before I ask myself?!
