Kobelco is king for Norwegian contractor

Norwegian contractor Entreprenørservice A.S. are big fans of the “true blue” Kobelco excavators and were keen to tell the Digger Man Blog about their work and machines.

First established way back back in 1998 Entreprenørservice A.S. today employs 34 employees working out of its base in Førde, Norway. The company specialises in ground work, demolition work but is also active in the complete refurbishment of gas stations, including the removal of old gas tanks. The current company owner/partner is 32 year oldThomas Østerbrø, who used to be a drilling and blasting specialist, but has bought shares within the company and is now responsible for all day to day running of the business. Close to the company’s base in Førde, a new hydropower plant is being built and Entreprenørservice A.S. is performing all the groundwork preparation work including the laying of pipes. The firm is currently running a total of six Kobelco’s with a further two on order. The SR (Short Radius) machines are extremely popular with the company and its operators. The one featured in these photos is a SK260 SR model which is operated by Terje Olan Broland and is equipped with a Indexator Rototilt tiltrotator system and is seen working in an arduous rocky environment, which is a real testament to the strength and durability of both the machine and the attachment. Talking about the company’s choice of excavators Thomas Østerbrø said, “We mainly buy short radius excavators because of the nature of the work we do. The balance of Kobelco excavators is second to none. It can lift heavy loads easily, without tipping. We note that the two brands featured in this blog post are having good success in the UK market right now. I hope to bring more blog posts on both Kobelco and Indexator products in the not too distant future.
