Finnish friends get “hands on” with Mecalac’s 11MWR

Our good friends over at Finnish publication Koneporssi have been able to get up close and personal with one of the new family of wheeled excavators from French manufacturer Mecalac, the video is in Finnish language but still a good watch.

Finnish friends get “hands on” with Mecalac’s 11MWR
We attended the launch of the MWR range last year in Annecy, the company’s spiritual home in France, alongside 300 other industry professionals from around the world. It was not possible to operate the machines during that event and we are still waiting for the opportunity to get some time in one, its something I am really looking forward to doing, hopefully it will happen this year with a full story to follow in Earthmovers Magazine. The company presented 4 new models with a design focusing on stability, mobility and versatility these consisted of the smallest model the 7MWR (6,900-7,275 kg / 55,4 kW), 9MWR (8,300-8,700 kg / 55,4 kW), 11MWR 10 450-10 820 kg / 55.4 kW) and the largest in the range the 15MWR (14,000-15,500 kg / 100 kW). Koneporssi’s Olli Paivio was able to spend time on the second largest offering the 11MWR which tips the scales at 10.5 tonnes. Powered by a Deutz 3.6 L4 engine, the machines compact dimensions make it an ideal choice for inner city jobsites with a width of just 2.5 metres and from ground level to top of the cab just under 3 metres, with boom and bucket tightly folded up and raised the machine can slew within a 3.3 metre space.
In this video we join Olli in the cab of the 11MWR.
The Digger Man Blog would like to thank Olli and Koneporssi for sharing this material with us.
