Mini Digging Alternative

Last week I posted a photo on our Facebook group featuring a mini excavator that I had not seen before, it prompted an interesting discussion about the merits of the machine, so I thought I would do some digging, (pun intended) to find out more.

Mini Digging Alternative

The machine turns out to be a MB-1500 model and is apparently manufactured by German company Jansen and is one example from a diverse range of products that the firm produces, ranging from wood saws and log splitters, to excavators and backhoes, they even produce mobility scooters. I might even hire one of those for Bauma next year!

Weighing in at 590kgs the MB-1500 has a digging depth of 1,456m is just one example from a range of digging machines produced by Jansen, described as a compact but powerful machine, it takes its power from a 13.5hp Briggs & Stratton petrol engine, driving a high-performance hydraulic pump. It may look like a rather crude example of a mini excavator but like one commenter said on the Facebook group, it would beat using a shovel any day of the week! Check out this promotional video on the machine from Jansen.
