Top 5 Dunked Diggers

Unless specifically designed for the job most diggers do not like water, especially with today’s high tech electrics and on board computers which can prove extremely costly to replace. For today’s blog I present my latest top five diggers in water accident photos.

Number 5. This unidentified machine in corporate colours of a Dutch company has either slipped off a barge or got caught out by the tide in the river, either way I expect this was a costly insurance job or possibly even a write off. Number 4. This Turkish built Hidromek excavator took some extracting from an icy waterlogged hole and without doubt would have suffered some serious damage to electrical components and fuel lines from water ingress. Number 3. This Hitachi machine has obviously become bogged in a waterlogged hole and I would have a lot of faith in the technique being deployed to extract the machine at that angle! Number 2. This Case-Poclain hydraulic excavator has dramatically got caught out in a raging torrent of flood water, another classic example of the ultimate power of Mother Nature in full swing! Number 1. This Hitachi Zaxis 120 became submerged in a underground car park excavation in Australia, as is often the case in these kind of salvage operation’s, somebody just has to get stuck in and get wet!
