All-Electric Pedestrian Site Dumper Spotted

At last week’s Maxpo Show in Finland, we visited what was probably the smallest stand at the event.

It turned out not to be a stand at all, but a machine on a trailer in the car park, with a clever sales manager visiting the show in a quest to find dealers for Danish company HG Machines ApS. The company who are based in Hedensted and Copenhagen, is a family run business that has been established for over 50 years producing small site dumpers from 1 to 2-tonne for the past 25 of those years.

Its certainly a brand I had never heard of before so I was keen to go and take a look and to find out more. According to HG Sales Manager, Giedrius Gedminas the company is focused on offering energy-efficient solutions to provide an emissions-free working environment (at point of use) with their 100% electric dumper models.

On the trailer was an example of their 1-tonne class HG E1000 all-electric mini dumper known as the ‘Super Skub’ High Tip. Powered by a 120 Ah lithium-ion battery the machine can run for 12 hours on a single charge depending on workload. Fast charging can also be achieved topping up the battery from 20 to 80% in just 90 minutes.

This High Tip version raises the skip by means of a scissor lift function to 125cm to facilitate dumping into skips or containers.

The dumper is driven by its forward wheels, with free-wheeling rotational wheels to the rear for ease of steering by the pedestrian operator.

It’s a simple but effective piece of equipment with compact dimensions which could find favour with a wide range of end users from small builders, to demolition contractors and landscape gardeners to name a few.
