Trawling through some You Tube clips recently I was amazed to find so many videos of machines being transported on the rivers in Vietnam.

In the UK or most other territories the standard way of transporting machines from one job to another is by road going low loader (low boy) haulage, but it appears that in Vietnam and other third world countries they make use of the river and canal networks to move their machines around! Many of the machines are elderly and in many cases like this example don’t even have a cab on, all extremely dangerous with little thought for anyone’s health and safety. The actual act of getting the machines on-board the raft’s looks a perilous carry on too as you will see in this video. It really is a different world in these places and you just have to love the umbrella makeshift canopy on this little 6 tonne Sumitomo!
