Are You Up for the JCB Operator Challenge

As part of JCB’s National Operator Challenge competition, my local dealer and the appointed dealer for South Wales and the South West of England, Holt JCB, will be hosting its regional event on the 12th & 13th April at Coram Construction Training Ltd, Langport, Somerset TA10 9NW.

The JCB operator challenge is set to be the ultimate test to look for the best tracked excavator operator in the UK. This challenge is largely centered around the X-Series machines with the JCB 140X & JCB 245XR.

Competitors will be judged on their machine operating skills, precision and dexterity in two timed trials, with the top three regional finalists going on to compete in the final face-off at the JCB Quarry in June. As well as being crowned JCB's Excavator Operator of the Year 2024, the winner will also get an all-expenses paid trip for two to Las Vegas!

Competitors wishing to take part in the competition must hold a valid CPCS or NPORS 360 Excavators operator’s card. Registration for the event is expected to go live soon and we will share the link to it in due course.

There are big prizes up for grabs for the top three operators, and the kudos that goes with winning such a prestigious event.

The Prizes include.

1st Prize – All expenses paid, 3-night stay for two in Las Vegas. Economy plane tickets from a UK airport. Staying in a named Vegas hotel (room only basis). 5,000 USD spending money to cover food, transfers, activities, etc. The trip can be extended at your / their own cost. 

2nd Prize – Tickets for two for the Sunday of the British Grand Prix at Silverstone in the BRDC (British Racing Drivers Club). This prize is tickets only and will not include any transfers, hotels, or additional extras.

3rd Prize – London city break for two. 2-night Hotel Stay in a central location with breakfast included. £500 spending money. No travel included.

In addition to the operator challenge element, Holt JCB will also be hosting a Dig Day event at the same time, with a variety of JCB products available for operators to try out, so it promises to be a great day out.
