Austin Wilkinson Invests in his First New Machine

Incredibly it’s been 10 years since I first reported on Austin Wilkinson’s life in the plant and machinery game, and his first investment of a good quality second-hand Komatsu PC290LC-8.

Since that first blog post on our old host, which I have replicated here, Austin’s Manchester-based business Austin Wilkinson Demolition has grown steadily and been involved in some pretty major projects along the way. He has done this by very sensibly purchasing well looked after second-hand machines, while focusing on purchasing new attachments for those machines.

But now, in his own words, he has finally “bit the bullet” and purchased the company’s first brand new machine as he celebrates the 10 years in business milestone.

The new kid on the block is the UK’s first LiuGong 933F series model which has been supplied by LiuGong Direct UK’s regional Sales Manager Steven Wilson who is based in Warrington.

Talking about his decision Austin said, “We are looking forward to see how she performs over the coming years. I know they aren’t everyone’s cup of tea, but you have to give people a chance and Steve at LiuGong has done a really good job at putting a package together that worked for me, even though it took him 4 years of working on me!  Anyway, we will see how we get on with it in due course”.

As with most LiuGong machines, the 933F features good quality blue-chip components, including the 6-cylinder Cummins B6.7 diesel engine offering a power output rating of 161kw (219hp) @2000rpm, and the latest Kawasaki hydraulic pump system.
