Avesco Cat Roadshow Enters Final Countdown

Our friends over at the Finnish Caterpillar dealers Avesco Cat have been out and about for the latest edition of their “Roadshow Tour” which today enters its final week.

Avesco Cat Roadshow Enters Final Countdown

As the world struggles to get back to some form of normality following the Covid pandemic, live machinery events are making a welcome return. Let’s be honest, many manufacturers and dealers put on some valiant efforts to launch and reveal their new products via virtual online events during the pandemic, but there really is no substitute for seeing the machines in the metal, and getting “hands on” with them in the seat, and of course, at the endo of the day, it’s a people business and face to face engagement will always be the preferred way.

Avesco Cat returned to its popular Roadshow format again this year following a successful staging of the roadshow in 2020. This year’s tour kicked off way up north in Finland at a very chilly Rovaniemi on October 25th, this the first of 9 different venues over a 3-week tour of the country.

Visitors who came along were invited to see and try out some of the latest “Next Generation” hydraulic excavators from Caterpillar, consisting of the 308, 315 GC and the wheeled M319.

The roadshow had its own support and hospitality vehicle in the form of a well-appointed articulated tour truck, in which visitors could find out a whole host of interesting Caterpillar related content, they could even take a virtual tour of some of the French Cat manufacturing facilities.

The Roadshow continues today in Vantaa, then visits Turku on the 11th, and concludes the day after on the 12th in Tampere at Avesco’s own premises.

Hosting the event is the delightful and ever smiling Helena Riihitupa aka “Cat Woman” who is a very well-known face on the machinery media circuit in Finland.

So, for our ever-expanding Finnish audience, there is still time to attend the roadshow over the coming days, I certainly wish I was there to catch one of these, but I will be back very soon, and so looking forward to it!

Unfortunately, most of the Avesco Cat Roadshow videos are in Finnish language, but here is a great video from their You Tube channel featuring a Cat 988K whose operator Klaus Rintala is a drummer in the rock band State of Emergency who provide the backing track! Credit for the video production to our friend Juhani Viitanen.
