Back in the Pink with Waitings

Pink machines are like buses, you wait for hours for one and then two turn up at once! Hot on the back of our recent post featuring Australian business Starbuck Excavations new pink machine, comes Cumbrian based company Waitings new pink JCB 220XLC.

Back in the Pink with Waitings

However, regular readers will recall that Waitings have previously been trailblazers with pink excavators. Back in 2015 they took delivery of its first example, a JCB JS220LC in the stunning colour to raise awareness of cancer, the machine was ordered by Victoria Waiting who sadly died of a brain tumour in 2016.

Victoria lived in Cliburn (the Cumbrian village where Waitings is based) all of her life and she was a much-loved part of the company and community. Mother to son James and daughter Alex, Victoria was also passionate about horses and a highly successful eventer.

That original pink JCB machine, has since helped Waitings raise over £100,000 for charities including Cumbrian hospices and Brain Tumour Research over the years. It will soon be auctioned off with a percentage of the proceeds also going to the charities!

Now Waitings have taken delivery of a brand new 220XLC model in the same stunning livery complete with a pink NOX tiltrotator and bucket. This new machine will continue to generate much needed cash for these deserving charities, as each time the machine is hired, a percentage of the revenue generated will be donated to these extremely worthy causes.

JCB’s very own “Digger Girl" Georgina Williams travelled up to Cumbria to see the machine in action and to spend some time in the seat, checkout the video below
