Back on the Road to Bauma with Komatsu

There is no doubt about it, big rigid dump trucks have always been something of a show stopper at the big trade fairs, and especially so at the Bavarian machinery fest that is Bauma.

Back on the Road to Bauma with Komatsu

This year at Bauma we expect more of the same from the big players in the game, and news reaches us that Komatsu Europe are bringing along the second largest rigid dump truck in their range the HD785-8.

The truck will be in good company at the show, as it will be joining Komatsu Europe’s other show stopper, the PC4000E-11 electric powered hydraulic face shovel which will be in action at specific times during the duration of the show.

The HD785-8 is powered by Komatsu’s in-house built 12-cylinder SAA12V140E-7 diesel engine which produces a power output of 895kw (1200hp) and is Stage V emissions compliant. The dump body capacity is 60 m3 and the machine has a rated payload of 92.2 tonnes. A maximum speed of 65 km/h is possible at full chat!

Other key features on this model include:

Fully automatic Komatsu Traction Control System (KTCS)

Large retarder capacity for both high productivity and safety

Smallest turning radius in class

KomVision all-round view for industry-leading safety

Service Center with oil & coolant fast fill connection

Komatsu Wireless Monitoring System: Komtrax 5.0, Komtrax Plus

This is one piece of kit I will be keen to take a look around during my time at the show.
