Ben Miller is in the mood for grabbing

East Lothian based Ben Miller has recently invested in another new attachment for his business BM Excavations Ltd and was keen to tell the Digger Man Blog about his latest acquisition.

Those who know or have read about Ben Miller, will be aware that he is another entrepreneurial plant man with a keen eye for time and money saving attachments. Having already set himself up with a Steelwrist tiltrotator on his Caterpillar 312D L he is continuing to add new work tools to his arsenal. His latest addition is an Intermercato Tigergrip GX 28-50 grab, which has been supplied by Pat Bulcock at Steelwrist UK. Talking about his new toy Ben said, “I have bought this mainly for handling forest residue like brash and stumps. It will also be used for placing rock armour on riverbank work and for handling pipes when I am working alone as is often the case in the more remote locations where I work”. The Intermercato Tigergrip is completely made from the finest Hardox steel and Ben describes it as absolutely bomb proof! Further enthusing about the grab Ben continued, “It’s so much easier using this grab under the Steelwrist, as opposed to putting my old conventional quick hitch on and using the rigid fixed-tine grab. The end result is far tidier, much more flexible and overall so much quicker”. The grab is also ideal for picking up his specially modified diesel bowser, eliminating the need to use chains or any other form of lifting gear when it’s time to move on, making the whole process much safer in the long run. The Digger Man Blog thanks Ben for sharing these photos with us.
