Big Boys Toys in Cat's Backyard

Some of the biggest hitters on the plant and machinery social media scene from North America are gaining awesome access to some of the largest machines in the Caterpillar range of products.

Big Boys Toys in Cat's Backyard
The likes of Aaron Witt aka Buildwitt and Scott Colclough aka Pushysix have been fortunate enough to be invited to visit Caterpillar’s impressive Tinaja Hills. While most of us in Europe are offered the chance to visit the equally impressive Caterpillar Demonstration and Learning Centre in Malaga, Spain, our North American colleagues get to visit Tinaja Hills which is set in 6500 acres of land in the Sonoran Desert, Green Valley, Arizona. Of course, due to its size and the market in the USA visitors to the American facility will be able to see some of the largest products in the Caterpillar range and during a recent visit Pushysix took the opportunity to get “hands on” with the giant Cat 6040 hydraulic excavator. The 6040 is the fourth largest hydraulic mining excavator in the Caterpillar range, it tips the scales at 407.3 tonnes, has a bucket payload capacity of 43.7 tonnes and has a total power output of 2,032hp. Check out how Scott gets on in this impressive piece of kit!

The Digger Man Blog thanks Pushysix for the use of his video within this blog post.
