Big Cat’s on the muck-shift down under

Long term regular contributor to the Digger Man Blog Gary Steen has recently sent me some more photos to share with the blog faithful.

There is not much information to go with these shots but I believe the machines are working on a major highway job in New South Wales in Australia. They say a picture paints a thousand words so let’s just enjoy the photos from the sunnier climes as the UK summer falters once again! First up we have a shot of the Cat D11R deploying its full power of some 915hp (682.3kw) to rip up the ground ahead of the motor scrapers.

In this shot we see the Cat D11R push loading a Caterpillar 651E single engine motor scraper as another one appears to be cutting under its own power on the upper shelf.

Finally in this latest batch of shots a loaded Caterpillar 651E heads off to the fill area over a road crossing.
