Caterpillar UK gets Royal seal of approval

Caterpillar UK has been awarded the 2014 Queen’s Award for Enterprise for its achievements in international trade – the UK’s highest accolade for business success.

Since the inception of the Queen’s Award in 1966, Caterpillar has been recognized six times, with the first recognition in its inaugural year. This recognition highlights Caterpillar’s significant contribution to the UK and international trade. Caterpillar established its first major facility outside the United States more than 60 years ago in the UK. Today, the company employs more than 10,000 people in 20 major facilities. The UK is one of the largest bases for Caterpillar outside the US, and the company’s UK businesses export a significant portion of their manufactured products to a wide variety of customers and markets. The photos in this blog post represent a small selection of the numerous Caterpillar products that are manufactured here in the UK. The Digger Man Blog congratulates Caterpillar UK on this fine achievement.
