CBL gears up for the Royal Cornwall Show
New machinery on display this year for its customers in Devon & Cornwall, will include the two newest models from Takeuchi and Bomag which will be available for close inspection. The Takeuchi 215R is part of a large program from the Japanese manufacturer to not only refresh its very popular range of mini and midi excavators but to add new models to ensure they have a solution for every type of job site. The TB215R which was recently launched at the Bauma International Trade Fair in Munich, is all new and features a reduced rear swing radius, hence the “R” on the name badge, it also has an all new boom with the lift ram designed to work behind the boom to reduce the risk of site damage when operators are working in very restricted spaces. The TB215R will be displayed alongside established popular models which represent the wide range available and include; the ubiquitous TB016, the 219 the reduced swing TB23R. also the TB219 and TB23R (both models are gaining in popularity as they are ideal for the road tow 3500 kg limit) a TB228 and the TB153FR representing Takeuchi’s reduced (front and rear) swing radius range complete the display. German Compaction specialist Bomag has also launched an important new addition to its range of tandem ride on rollers. The BW120 AD-5 completes the family of three compact machines covering the weight range from 1.5 to 4.2 tonne with drum widths from 80cm to 135cm. The new BW120 AD-5 which will be displayed alongside a smaller BW80-5, features improved all round visibility for the operator, not only for enhanced safety of bystanders, but also to provide a good view of the working edges to the drums. Bomag have made this new series livelier with a higher travel speed to efficiently move around the job site. The operator gets improved control of the vibration modes for all types of materials from sub-base to hot asphalt. A close look at this new machine shows the attention to detail that you can take for granted from Bomag, not only with the water sprinkler system which is protected from wind and frost by the easy access hinged covers but the obvious build quality, especially the electrical system which is easily noticeable for the neat installation under the one piece damage resistant bonnet. The New BW120-5 on display has been purchased by MJL Contractors of Helston and Exeter, who already run a number of Bomag rollers in their fleet. CBL will also be displaying Thwaites dumpers, this year ranging from 3 to 9 tonne capacity, due to strong demand from CBL’s key customer’s for their new machines to be displayed on the stand. These include Fred Champion Groundworks, W H Bond and the SHC dumper which is displayed in their now familiar blue and white livery. Atlas Copco will also have a presence on the CBL stand, with an extensive range of pneumatic and hydraulic tools and rock breakers, including a hydraulic post driver which can operate from a Honda engine power-pack or the auxiliary circuit of a Takeuchi TB016 or similar. As the Merlo dealer for the non-agricultural range in Cornwall, CBL will be displaying the P25.6 compact telescopic handler featuring a full sized Panoramic cab, as well as the Merlo standard features of hydraulic locking for the attachments and of course the hydrostatic transmission for smoothness and  high torque. The final machine on this year’s list is the Messersi tracked hi tip dumper to compliment the smaller Takeuchi machines for customers working on narrow access sites. Talking to the Digger Man Blog CBL’s Regional Director John Elliott said, “It’s already been another very successful Royal Cornwall Show for us, even before its started, with lots to talk about, and with almost all the machines that will be displayed already sold, with the customers ready to take delivery straight from the showground. We cordially invite all our customers both old and new to come and join us on stand 543, for a warm welcome, and some special show offers too”.
