Classic kit working at Swedish show (Blog Post Re-Visited)

The guys from the Swedish veteran machine club Maskin Historiska (Machine Historical Society) put on an impressive display during the MaskinExpo show in Stockholm back in 2015 and in this blog we take a look back at a series of photos from the demonstration area.

Of great interest to me as a Englishman was this UK built Priestman Cub rope controlled excavator which was being put through its paces excavating and loading a Euclid tractor and dump body unit. Priestman machines which were designed and built in Hull, were very popular back in the day in the Nordic territories and a good number of these machines are still preserved in Scandinavia. Another famous UK manufactured machine was this Ruston Bucyrus 10 RB which was also set up in the “dig” to load the Euclid combo. A couple of old dozers were being displayed on the showground including this 1969 Swedish  Bofors BS 19 AC model, which is powered by a Scania D11 engine and is a regular machine on the veteran machinery display circuit in Sweden. Check out this video of the Bofors BS 19 AC in action.
A couple of American Hough Payloader loading shovels were also displayed including this Model- HF. Also being put to good use loading a classic Scania truck was its much smaller counterpart the Payloader Model-HA. These machines are a real credit to the individuals who own them and keep them running often at great personal cost, so that future generations can see first-hand examples from the countries earthmoving heritage.
