Classic plant web alternative

While Facebook seems to dominate the internet these days, there are still many alternative ways for plant & machinery enthusiasts to get a fix away from the madding crowd. With that in mind the forum featured in this blog post is one of my personal favourites.

Classic Machinery Network (CMN) was formed in 2007 as an English language sister site to the hugely successful Swedish forum Maskinisten.net, which coincidently is where my internet journey began some years previously, when I was spotted and approached by the online editor of the now defunct magazine Contract Journal and asked if I fancied writing a blog for them, the rest as they say is history. The forum has a good mix of topics primarily dominated by classic machinery but also featuring modern kit too. The forum has around 16,510 members who have contributed to a total of 95,092 posts. As an added bonus the site is well managed and moderated to maintain a good standard of decency and professionalism, much in the same way as our Digger Man Blog Facebook page. In fact the CMN forum also includes many of our members in its ranks who have contributed a lot of material over the years. So if you fancy a change over the festive season away from all the Facebook plant pages, which in many cases are all just sharing the same old material, why not head across to CMN and sign up to become a member.
