D11T Caterpillars “Big Daddy”

Thinking about my upcoming trip to Caterpillar’s Demonstration & Learning Centre in Malaga has reminded me of the awesome power display which is put on by the team in the “Big Push” with the undisputed king of the dozers being the D11T.

For those of us of a certain age the Cat D9 was the big dozer of our generation, closely followed by the ground breaking D10 with its revolutionary high drive sprocket arrangement in 1977. These days however the king of the pushers is the mighty D11T.

Powered by Cat’s C32 Acert engine the machine has a power output of 850hp and with an operating weight of 229848lbs the D11T is a truly impressive piece of kit.
