Develon Demonstrates E-Stop
Develon’s new Dash-9 excavators are brimming with advanced technological features, including an all-new system that will automatically stop a machine’s movement, when a person is detected within 4m of the machine.
Develon’s ever friendly Product Specialist Stephane Dieu recently took up an invitation from OPPBTP, The French Professional Organization for Prevention in the Construction and Public Works Sector.
The organization was first founded as far back as 1947 by Pierre Caloni to raise the importance of health and safety issues in the construction sector, and is dedicated to the prevention of accidents and occupational risks.
Develon were delighted to be given the opportunity to demonstrate, their innovative new technology, which has been designed to reduce accident risks on earthmoving projects and construction sites.
The demonstration took place on the site of the Seine-Nord Europe Canal project, which is a major transportation project in France, offering great opportunities to test out the E-Stop system, but also for operators to try out the new Dash-9 hydraulic excavator on a real-life site.
Operators from French construction company Bouygues Travaux Publics, were on hand to conduct the test with the DX230LC-9 and all offered extremely positive feedback on the E-Stop system and the new machine overall.

Having recently operated the DX260LC-9 in Finland, I can echo their sentiments entirely, you will be able to read my thoughts on these stunning new machines in the next edition of Earthmovers Magazine.
In the meantime, checkout this video shared by Stephane, who you can see entering the machines workspace, which in turn shuts it down, its clever stuff!
