Digger Man Goes to Manitou

Something very different today on the Digger Man Blog, by its very nature my blog tends to focus largely on diggers and earthmoving equipment in general, but as this blog is being posted I am on route to the premises of Manitou UK to get up close and personal with the new MRT range of rotating telehandlers.

Digger Man Goes to Manitou

I’m super excited to have been invited up to the headquarters in Verwood, Dorset, by Manitou UK’s Jim Hulme, who is the Sales Support Manager, for an introduction and test drive opportunity on examples of the MRT range for a potential article in Earthmovers Magazine.

I can honestly say I have not operated a forklift, or telehandler in anger, probably since as far back as 1985, so obviously the whole concept has evolved massively since those days, with rotating telehandlers taking it to a totally new level, which is going to be interesting to see.

Officially launched last year, the Vision range consists of four models, offering maximum lift heights of 16m,18m,21m and 25m, while offering a maximum lift capacity of 4.5-tonne.

The larger Vision + range features five models, three of which provide a maximum lift capacity of 6.0-tonnes, with maximum lift heights of 22m, 26m, and 30m. Two additional larger models complete the range and offer a maximum lift capacity of 7-tonnes offering maximum lift heights of 25m and 35m respectively.

At this stage I’m unsure what models will be available for us to see and try, but keep an eye out on our Digger Man Blog social media accounts for updates throughout the day, and in due course lookout for my article in a future edition of Earthmovers Magazine.
