Digger’s Conexpo Highlights: Sany Puts on a Dancing Digger Show

At one time earthmoving machinery manufacturer Sany looked like they were destined to be the next big thing in Chinese construction machinery sales in the UK, however the recent restructuring of the UK dealership business has seen them lose further ground to fellow Chinese brand LiuGong.

Digger’s Conexpo Highlights: Sany Puts on a Dancing Digger Show

In the USA though, Sany have a decent presence with their machines many of which are built in a state-of-the-art facility in Georgia. Understandably at Conexpo Sany were keen to put on a big show, full of the razzmatazz that we have come to expect from the triennial American machinery fest.

Standing out loud and proud at the front of the Sany booth was one of their excavators emblazoned with the red, white, and blue of the stars and stripes, along side this machine were some of the latest models from the company’s mini excavator range including the 9.5 tonne SY95C.

Also, brand new on the stand was Sany’s latest motor grader offering the SMG200C-8 which tips the scales at 45,107lbs and is powered by a 235hp (172kw) Cummins engine, the machine sports an impressive 14ft mouldboard blade.

Perhaps most impressive was the dancing digger display that was put on by a team of operators from various locations around the globe, including a Swede on the SY75C complete with Steelwrist tiltrotator, check out my video of the show.
