Diggers Hillhead 2022 Highlights: CASE Construction Equipment

There was plenty of new kit to see on the CASE Construction Equipment stand at Hillhead, including the recently launched E-Series hydraulic excavators and the new D-Series mini excavator models.

Diggers Hillhead 2022 Highlights: CASE Construction Equipment

Our friends over at CASE Construction Equipment assembled no less than 12 new model machines for the Hillhead plant and machinery fest, a gathering that also coincides with CASE’s 180th anniversary year!

The recently launched, Sumitomo inspired CASE E-Series hydraulic excavators were represented by 3 models, the CX250E, CX210E and the CX130E which I was excited to be seeing for the first time, as its such a popular size in the house building groundworks side of things, where I spent much of my operating career.

The new SV range of backhoe loaders was represented by a 590SV model and there was also a G-Series wheeled loader on stand.

Focal point on the stand was the incredible 180th anniversary ‘Abe’ statue that was being skilfully carved out of timber by STIHL ambassador Simon O’Rourke. The iconic bird statue was up for grabs in a sealed bid auction which coincidently ends tonight at 5pm. All proceeds are going to The Lighthouse Club the construction charity.

As if a wooden statue wasn’t enough, CASE also had a real life ‘Abe’ on hand. The stunning American Bald Eagle was proving to be a massive draw to the stand with visitors queuing up to hold the bird for a photo opportunity.

For many though the star exhibits were the brand-new D-Series mini excavators, of which 7 models were assembled on the stand. The machines shown were the CX12D, CX19D, CX25D, CX35D, CX50D, CX65TR and the CX15EV electric mini-excavator. According to CASE these machines are manufactured at dedicated European plants.

The new D-Series models benefit from the synergies of innovation, technology, expertise and production that follow the acquisition of Sampierana by CNH Industrial in 2021.

Take a tour around the mini excavators in our video below.

Big thanks to Crispin Turner and Hayden Bale for the kind hospitality over the three days of the show.
