Doosan Dozing Ambitions

Under the new brand name of Hyundai Doosan Infracore, the Korean manufacturer recently showcased what they described as a “pre-prototype” model of their first ever bulldozer at an American focused media event in Tucson, Arizona.

The dozer designated the DD100, tips the scales with an operating weight of 25,309lbs pitching it in the market of “D3-D4” weight class models, with power coming from a 122hp Doosan diesel engine, and Doosan suggest that a second larger 130hp model will also be introduced within the first 6 months of 2023 as the business takes bold steps to become a full product line, “one stop shop” manufacturer in the coming decade.

As is becoming more common these days the machine features a very noticeable sloping bonnet, with nicely rounded edges for enhanced forward visibility, further adding to the visibility is the large glazed doors, side and rear windows.

In the cab the operator gets the usual expected creature comforts, and in addition a full colour 8-inch touchscreen monitor. Safety is enhanced with the standard fitment of a rear-view camera, and for those dark winter nights, Scandinavian style LED lighting package is also included.

At the business end, the DD100 will be supplied as standard with a 6-way PAT blade which offers a capacity of 3.0 cubic yards, but for purchasers selecting the LGP (low ground pressure) version blade capacity will increase to 3.4-cubic yards.

We understand that for the time being this machine will only be available in the North American market, but this could potentially be rolled out to other markets in future years.
