Doosan Give us a Sneak Preview of 10-Tonne Duck

Keen followers and end users of Doosan wheeled excavators were treated to a nice surprise last week as the company gave us a brief glimpse of the long awaited 10-tonne DX100W-7.

Doosan Give us a Sneak Preview of 10-Tonne Duck

Korean manufacturer Doosan, now under the umbrella of Hyundai Doosan Infracore, have revealed its latest offering in the wheeled excavator sector.

Very little information, if any, on the DX100W-7 has been released so far, but the new model is a perfect fit in this important size class and slots into their current Doosan range between the 6-tonne class DX57W-5 and the 14-tonne class DX140W-7.

The new model will compete in the highly competitive sector, which includes among others the Wacker Neuson DW100, Takeuchi TB295W, Yanmar B95 and JCB’s Hydradig 110W.

According to the Korea Economic Daily, Hyundai Doosan Infracore continues to strengthen its foothold within the global design community. It was the first company among South Korea’s heavy equipment manufacturers to have been named the Featured Finalist at the 2021 International Design Excellence Awards (IDA) with this new DX100W wheeled excavator.

The company’s products have also been awarded at the Red Dot Design Award 2020 and the iF Design Award 2021.

I have been unable to find any video footage of this exciting new machine, but hopefully will have some in the not-too-distant future.

In the meantime, here is a video of its smaller brother the DX57W-5 taken during Doosan's Quarry Days event in the Czech Republic in 2019.
