Electrifying Experience with Tobroco at Bauma

Every day during my 7 + days at Bauma I received messages from manufacturers inviting me to visit their stands thanks to the power of our Digger Man Blog social media reach, one of those messages came from Dutch construction machinery manufacturer Tobroco-Giant.

Electrifying Experience with Tobroco at Bauma

I was kindly invited to take a look around the stand by Luuk Van Kessel who is an account manager with the Tobroco-Giant who aside from compact wheeled loaders, also manufacture skid steer loaders, telescopic wheeled loaders, telehandlers and compaction equipment, all produced in their factory in Oisterwijk in the Netherlands.

Obviously, I was aware of the company but, it was interesting to learn that Tobroco had been in existence since 1996, when it was founded by the current owner/director Toine Brock, producing construction and agricultural products on his parent’s farm working out of a stable!

In 2001 the company produced the very first Giant loader the D261 and that was the catalyst for what the company has become today.

In 2019 the company produced its first electric powered compact loader, and at this years Bauma trade fair, there was a strong focus on electric powered machines on the stand.

Two electric powered compact loaders were on display, the 22,00kg G2200E X-TRA and its larger brother the G2700E X-TRA which weighs in at 2,595kgs. The G2700E X-TRA offers a tipping load of 2,300 kg (or 2,650 kg with counterweight). The machines feature’s a lifting height of 2.5 m.

The G2700E X-TRA is equipped with a 260 Ah, 48V LPT-battery, optional batteries with 390 Ah and 520 Ah are available. With two separate electric engines, 6,5 kW for the drive and 12 kW for work hydraulics, there is always enough power to carry out work accurately. Also, there is automatic recuperation every time the machine rolls out or drives down a mountain.

There was also a wide range of electric powered compaction equipment adorning the stand.

We are hoping to visit the factory in Holland in the not-too-distant future for a full report in Earthmovers Magazine.

Checkout this promotional video of the G2700E X-TRA from Tobroco-Giant which I believe is being operated by Luuk Van Kessel himself.
