Exploring Digbits

Following in the theme of my latest cover story in Earthmovers Magazine, in this post we delve in once again to find out more about the work that goes into designing these bespoke buckets with my good friend and industry colleague Peter Haddock.

Exploring Digbits

Peter paid a visit to Digbits facility in Rugeley, Staffordshire ahead of our site visit to see these attachments in action, and being a very inquisitive individual, he was keen to meet up with Digbits Design and Technical specialist, Richard Beard, who talked to him about the design and fabrication of the new Scandinavian style buckets, and how they worked in collaboration with Dave Stone, of Dave Stone Excavator Services.

Dave had a very clear idea of what he wanted attachments wise for his brand-new Takeuchi TB370 and NOX tiltrotator combo, and certain features were incorporated to his own specifications.

Peter also finds out how the team built-in Scandinavian specialist Hardox steel into the bucket, which is world renowned for its strength and abrasion resistance, whilst still being lighters than some other steels.

It’s a great story of a dedicated British manufacturer working closely with their customer to achieve the very best results, and clearly a sign that collaboration, collaboration, collaboration, is the buzz word for doing business in this day and age!
