Ex-Work Colleague Looks Back (Part Two)

Another batch of old photos have come winging into my inbox from an old work colleague of mine, Jason Roberts, from South Wales, who I worked with on a site in Plymouth back in 2004.

Ex-Work Colleague Looks Back (Part Two)

It’s a bit of a mixed bag in this last batch of photos from Jason, which are old mobile phone photos so the quality is not so good, but its still great to look back at them. Details are extremely sketchy so I might be winging it a bit here, but I’ll do my best.

Once again as featured in part one, some of these photos were taken at the Parc Slip Open Cast Mine in Cefn Cribwr near Bridgend. One for the best photos in this collection is this close up shot of one of the 3 EX18000’s that Celtic Energy were running on this job.

Another great shot is this one of a Caterpillar 16G motor grader that was on site from massive plant Welsh plant outfit Walters. According to Jason the operator who was operating the machine in those days was a lovely Irish chap, called Willy Callaghan, who is sadly no longer with us.

In this shot we see an overview of some of the working area featuring a Cat D9R and a Terex dumptruck in the foreground.

Jason has also included a photo of the Walter's supplied Komatsu PC400LC-3 that he was operating at Penderyn Quarry. On this job he was loading road going 8-wheeler lorries with material that was being used as fill for a site in Mountain Ash.

And finally, in this photo of a photo Jason is tracking down the haul road towards the dig.
