Final Plantworx highlights

In this blog I present my last batch of photos from the hugely successful Plantworx event, which now sadly seems like a distant memory. Of course the team will now be making plans for the next one in 2017 and I for one will be looking forward to that!

Plantworx 2015 gave visitors the first sighting of the new Doosan DX140-5 hydraulic excavator and was apparently unexpected. Hopefully I will be conducting a test drive on this machine over the coming weeks for the magazine if all goes to plan. NC continue to make an impact on the site dumper market and this latest offering in the 9 tonne class the SW9 features a fully enclosed and heated cab, something I feel all site dumpers should be fitted with in this day and age. It looks a very well-engineered piece of kit too. Midi sized rubber duck market continues to be very popular and on the Terex demonstration plot the company was displaying its 8.5 tonne TW85 model with two piece boom, dozer blade and stabilizers. Wacker Neuson showcased a number of new wheeled and trackedmodels on its stand including the 6.5 tonne class ET65 and this 9 tonne offering the ET90, both of which were configured with the two piece boom option, which looked like cracking bits of kit! Bristol based Whites Material Handling displayed their all new Totalock 2 quick coupler on their stand mounted on a Hitachi ZX38U mini excavator in addition to a vast array from their portfolio of products. Staffordshire based bucket and attachment manufacturer Digbits went “green” for the Plantworx show, displaying a wide variety of its products sporting the distinctive colour especially for the show, many of these products were sold off the stand apparently. With Plantworx over we now look forward to the next show on the event circuit, Demo Expo in Reading 26th –  27th June.
