Finland Calling Once Again!
As you read this blog post this morning, I will be making my way up to Heathrow, to embark on my latest pilgrimage back to Finland, a place that has had a major impact on my life, in so many ways over the years, a place where I feel more at home, and welcomed, by good genuine friends, than anywhere else on the planet.
The action will start tomorrow when I will be visiting our friends at ALLU, to checkout their latest concrete crushing & screening bucket, and to discover all the latest developments from this famous Finnish brand that has a massive global presence, and I thank the team for inviting me over once again.
Stay tuned to our Digger Man Blog social media platforms on Tuesday, for some little snippets of the action and there will be a full report in a future edition of Earthmovers Magazine.
I will then take a day out of the schedule to catch up with good friends, before moving further north to Jämsä, where it’s a great pleasure to be attending the Finnmetko event once again. The 2026 edition which takes place from 3rd to 5th September, is promising to be bigger and better than ever before.
Covering some 150 hectares, Finnmetko, is Finland’s leading biennial professional trade exhibition, and has always traditionally been a forestry machinery show, but increasingly it has expanded its construction machinery presence, and in recent years has created an entire earthmoving zone dedicated to it.
I will spend most of my time in that zone, whilst my Earthmovers and Forestry Machinery magazine colleague Eoghan Daly will be covering the forestry kit on display.
There is always something to see and do at this event, and as with most Finnish shows we attend, it’s a family friendly affair, which is great to see.
I will be attending the first two days, and will be bringing a flavour of the action to our social media platforms as the signal permits, before hot footing it back to Helsinki on Friday night in preparation of my flight back on the Saturday.
