Forlorn Looking Liebherrs

We do love photos of ‘fallen heroes’ here on the Digger Man Blog, and our good friend Gary Major has passed on a new batch featuring a couple of Liebherr excavators.

These abandoned R 916 and R 926 Liebherr machines were shot by a former colleague of Gary’s Jason Izzard at a location somewhere in China.

Apparently its quite commonplace to come across machines like this in the Far Eastern territories. Machines are rarely looked after by end users in these regions, and are simply used and all too often abused, before being discarded to rust away on some wasteland.

Its hard to comprehend how these poor machines can be treated like this, quite sad really, as there is obviously a lot of life left in these examples, and with a bit of TLC and some fresh paint, they could easily be back in fighting form again quite quickly.
