Fresh New Look & Design for NC Engineering Site Dumper

Last week during my visit to the Machine Serve Open Days event I was given a guided tour around the all new SW5560 Site Dumper from NC-Engineering, courtesy of Lee Morris the UK Sales Manager.

The British built SW5560 is the latest in a newly designed line up of site dumpers from NC-Engineering which they describe as both powerful and robust. The 4-wheel drive hydrostatically driven 6-tonner is powered by a Doosan Infracore supplied D24 Stage 5 emissions compliant engine which offers a power output rating of 55kw.

The machine features a Linde switchable twin mode hydrostatic CVT transmission and offers a top speed in forward or reverse of 26km/h (16mph). Multi-plate oil immersed disc brakes are fitted on the front axle, while steering is enhanced by a load sensing hydrostatic centre pivot. The parking brake is a hand operated (SAHR) system, spring applied hydraulically released for low maintenance.

A forward-facing camera comes as standard with the 7” LCD monitor located up on the dashboard just off to the right-hand side for improved visibility from the seat. Also fitted as standard are rear facing LED working lights.

Steps and grab handles are painted red which is apparently 3 times cheaper than the dayglo yellow/green that we have been seeing on some big fleet user’s machines in recent years. Twin hatch panels are provided for operators to perform their daily checks from ground level.

A full cab version is expected to be launched in the coming months which will be ROPS & FOPS Level 2 compliant with full air conditioning available as an option.

Summarizing about the new model Lee Morris said, “We have put a lot of design and stress analysis into this machine and hardened steel has been used in critical points, but it is still the lightest in its class on the market at just 4,100kgs, we are delighted with the end result!”
