German Machinery Event Venue Slips Under My Radar (Part One)

Our good friend and Kinshofer NOX end user and regular demonstration partner Ed Butler recently returned from a superb event in Germany, which I have to say I had never even heard of. So, I was delighted to have a chat with Ed over the phone last week, where clearly still buzzing, he gave me the lowdown on the event and venue, and has kindly shared an amazing number of photos with us.

German Machinery Event Venue Slips Under My Radar (Part One)

Ed had been invited out for a week at the Kiesel factory and the Coreum which is located at Stockstadt near Frankfurt, an event venue created by the team at Hitachi and Fuchs dealership Kiesel some two years ago, where he would be demonstrating on the Kinshofer GmbH stand as part of their 50 years in business celebrations.

Ed said, “I was blown away by this facility, the Coreum is a truly magnificent place, with so much to do and see, and it was great to be able to take a look around and to see the work that goes on within the Kiesel business, and of course it was great to be invited to demonstrate at such a prestigious event by the team at Kinshofer who have been amazing to work with, we have had some good times and long may it continue!”.

It transpires that since opening its doors two years ago the Coreum has established itself locally as a superb all year-round event location offering an exciting alternative to the conventional trade fairs as we know them, looking at Ed’s photos I likened it to a mini Bauma style show, complete with working demo areas, where visitors can get “hands on” with the latest kit, it also reminds me of the Finnish Mansen Mörinät event, where dealers hold open days hosted at their own depots, a set up that works very well there.

The main purpose of Ed’s visit of course was to demonstrate the virtues of the Kinshofer NOX tiltrotator as he did at the Conexpo show in Las Vegas in 2020 and Plantworx before that. This time however he was operating a Hitachi 55U mini excavator and a Zaxiz 190W wheeled excavator, rather than his more familiar Wacker Neuson machines.

The Coreum also has a lot of vintage Hitachi and Fuchs machines on display with many more in stock to eventually be restored to their former glory, I especially like the UH121 hydraulic excavator.

For a flavour of the show, here is a video from an event held at the Coreum in 2020.

We thank Ed for sharing his photos with us here on the Digger Man Blog and we will be posting more in part two of this post next week.
