Golf Competition with a Twist!
Around the world, people are once again starting to enjoy attending the machinery shows and open house events, that are making a most welcome return in the post pandemic period.
Our Swedish friends Alexander Lipkin and Rikard/Rille, hadn’t actually seen each other face to face since 2019, but were reunited recently when they visited an open day event in Luleå, Sweden, hosted by Swedish Huddig dealers Staffare AB.

As well as showcasing a wide range of machines from its entire dealer portfolio the Staffare event also hosted the latest round of the “Huddig Skills” competition, where operators are invited to take part in a mini golf style event using a Huddig backhoe loader with Rototilt tiltrotator, and a giant golf club mounted on the end.
In this fun filled contest, operators compete against the clock to send an oversized golf ball down the course in the fastest time, and with the least number of strokes. While it is all supposed to be for a bit of fun, machine operators by their very nature are a competitive bunch, as we will see in the videos below.
This first video is from Alexander and Rickard.
In this video Rickard has a go on the Huddig 1260D himself, by his own admission he is not an operator professionally, having only operated machines at various trade fairs over the years, however he managed to record a time of 2 minutes 14 seconds, with a total of 6 strokes. The winner on the previous day had a time of 1 minute 15 seconds, with 4 strokes, so Rickard was happy with his efforts on the day.
While this video has been produced by Huddig themselves.
