Grab a baseball cap but don’t lose your head “drive”

We have featured many videos on the Digger Man Blog over the years featuring stunts performed with excavators, but somehow I have missed this one, which is now doing the rounds some 3 years later on various social media outlets.

Who can forget the video we posted in the past which featured an operator on a Case excavator removing items of clothing from a woman with a selector grab which went on to be a massive post for page views on here on the Digger Man Blog. Well for this particular stunt, which it appears was staged to set a rather dubious record for the Guinness Book of Records, we see demonstration operator Franco Giuseppe Meloni at the controls of a New Holland E245C 25 tonne class excavator, attempting to remove 7 baseball caps from the heads of 7 ladies in under one minute. The stunt was performed live on Saturday night Italian television show “Lo Show dei Record” in 2012. [youtube width="725" height="344"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZhyjfskbVE[/youtube] It’s fair to say that some of the ladies look a little on the nervous side as Franco skilfully closes the grab on the peaks of the baseball caps, but I’m pleased to report the whole attempt went smoothly with no heart stopping moments and Franco's attempt was confirmed as a Guinness world record!
