Hands Free Cat Trial!
When Caterpillar wanted to demonstrate the agility of one of its autonomous dumptrucks, they pitched it through a course alongside four-time FIFA World Cup participant DaMarcus Beasley.
Caterpillar were keen to prove what their big autonomous machines can deliver in terms of agility and precision, in comparison to the same levels of skill one would expect from a world class football player.
The autonomous truck in question is the 794 AC electric drive variant, which can carry a 327-tonne payload and has a gross power output of 3500hp. The bemouth machine definitely shows a clean pair of tyres while negotiating the obstacles on its route.

Equally as nimble of course is former pro footballer DaMarcus Beasley who is the only U.S. man to play in four FIFA World Cups, his first being in 2002 and his latest in 2014, earning 126 caps during his 16-year international career. Beasley even had a spell in the English Premier League with Manchester City in 2006.
Cat Trial 12: No Hands highlights how the usage of semi-autonomous and autonomous machines can make manoeuvring equipment through the toughest obstacles as easy as a top flight athlete, but apart from that, it just makes for an epic video for us to enjoy!
