High Spec Hitachi Joins the Irvine Plant Fleet

Family business Irvine Plant based in Peebles in the Scottish Borders has recently added a nearly new Hitachi Zaxis 135US-6 which brings the fleet up to 14 machines.

High Spec Hitachi Joins the Irvine Plant Fleet

I have had the pleasure of knowing Ewan Irvine as a friend since 2009, which is when I first met him, when he was a competitor at the New Holland Grand Prix competition which was being held in Turin, Italy.

A lot of water as flowed under the bridge since those days, and there has been a lot of changes during that time, and Ewan has continued to go on to bigger and better things. Its now 3 years since he decided to go on his own and the company now runs 14 machines of varying sizes and types, 11 motor vehicles, lots of small plant, a tipper truck and a low loader.

The latest addition to the fleet is an all dancing, all singing affair, the Hitachi Zaxsis 135US which only has 470 hours on the meter, comes complete with a dozer blade, 3D all around camera system, full LED lighting and a Steelwrist tiltrotator.

On arrival back at his yard Ewan has had the boxing ring and all handrails powder coated in Kawasaki green, which really compliments the Steelwrist green. He has also had the cab glass tinted too, which really finishes it off nicely.

Ewan said, “I’m really pleased with it mate, I have got a great operator going on the machine too, as we all know, it’s the operators that get and retain the work for sure and for anyone hiring the machine, they know exactly what they are getting, from our perspective, its an expensive piece of kit so we want to know its going to get well looked after”.

The machine has already headed out on its first hire, with a very happy operator and probably an even happier customer!

Ewan is one of the nicest and most genuine blokes you will ever meet in this industry, and it goes without saying, that the Digger Man Blog wishes him all the very best with his latest investment, and continued success with his business in the coming years.
