Immaculate CASE Spotted
My local CASE Construction Equipment dealer M&M Plant Sales Ltd, posted a photo last week on their rejuvenated social media pages, of what is probably one of the tidiest 2020 model, 585SLE backhoe loaders in the country, as their premises are only seven miles down the road from me, I jumped in the car to go take a look around it.
There are not that many of these models around, especially in such good condition, so it’s quite a rare example in the wider scheme of things. The machine came from the era when CASE had purchased Fermec, which as we know, was previously Massey Ferguson (MF), the brand was eventually sold to Terex, and you can see the similarities especially in the bonnet hood shape.

Weighing in at around 7.8 tonnes, the four-wheel-drive and four-wheel-steer 595SLE, was powered by a Perkins 1004.4T-HR diesel engine producing a power output of 71.5kw, and sat on standard 16.9x24 tyres.
This example, which only has 2400 hours showing on the meter, has the straight up sticks for operating the backhoe, often preferred by the BHL purists out there.

Not much is known about the history of this one, the dealer bought it from someone, who had bought it from someone else, but all they could tell me was that it was a Cornish supplied machine, and had spent all its working life in Cornwall.
It really is a fantastic example, and a credit to whoever it was who owned it, it’s had the odd lick of paint over the years, but that just goes to show the TLC that it’s been treated too.

It would make a great machine for a small builder, self-build project, or agricultural digger. If this machine is of interest to you, or any other CASE Construction Equipment models, get in touch with the team at M&M Plant Sales Ltd.
